Where Splendour Hides draws the eye into a dense cascade of foliage and jewel-toned blossoms, where the peacock reveals itself gradually rather than all at once. Its turquoise head and fragments of patterned plumage emerge between clusters of burgundy, ochre and dusky rose, creating a dialogue between concealment and display. The downward movement of the flowers gives the composition a sense of lush abundance, while the bird’s quiet gaze introduces stillness. The work celebrates beauty not as spectacle, but as something discovered through attentive looking.
