Suspended from a strong, weathered branch, three ripening jackfruits become quiet symbols of abundance in The Weight of Summer. Their rounded forms carry a palpable sense of gravity, while the surrounding foliage dissolves into loose, airy gestures of blue and green.

The warm, textured trunk anchors the composition against a softly illuminated background, creating a balance between strength and stillness. Through layered acrylic colour and expressive mark-making, the painting captures that fleeting moment when summer feels at its fullest—heavy with warmth, growth and the promise of harvest.
